Google’s Universal Analytics is coming to the end...

The deadline of 1st July 2023 for Google’s Universal Analytics (UA) is fast approaching and the new GA4 will officially kick in.

Your Universal Analytics properties will stop processing data on 1st July 2023 and it will stop measuring your website traffic and the reports will stop updating.

GA4 is much more than just a new version of Google Analytics. It’s a completely new platform that has been built from the ground up.  It will collect, process, and report on data differently than before and will provide a better understanding of the customer journey.

If you do nothing, Google will create a new GA4 property automatically for you, and your Universal Analytics configurations will be copied to the new GA4 property.

However, as GA4 is a completely different platform the automatic migration may not provide you with the same reporting choices that you had in UA, so it’s worth bearing that in mind.

If you'd like to discuss this further and check if the new GA4 is going to provide you with the tracking and reporting that you need then please contact us and we can help.

Also a reminder – Google have said “After July 1, 2023, you'll be able to access your previously processed data in your Universal Analytics property for at least six months. We know your data is important to you, and we strongly encourage you to export your historical reports during this time.”
